On Books and Working Out.

In Life, self improvement on February 20, 2013 at 7:06 pm

Let’s start with this: I have not one, not two, but THREE stacks of books waiting to be read, and that doesn’t even include the various books on the three bookshelves in my room, nor does it count the reference books that are littered throughout my apartment. Or even the hundreds of books on my kindles (yes, plural – don’t judge). Baseline: I love to read, and there a lot of books which I want to read.

There’s another thing I really like to do, but I kind of always forget I like to do it, because you know, it doesn’t involve laying in bed. Working out. I always feel so satisfied with a good work out. Like the other day I ran three and a half miles! In less than an hour! What? I can do that? Lies! I don’t believe it, but alas I did. And it was awesome, like in the literal sense. I was in awe of what I could do. And I wanted to do it more, and I wanted to improve.

So I’ve always had this thing where the gym was my time to read what I wanted to read. No school work is allowed in the gym. That is my motto. So I thought maybe I can use this to my advantage. I want to read a book a week, one that’s aren’t for school, and in order to do so, I will have to go to the gym. No, I figure if I go to the gym for an hour a day, five days a week, that should be easy. And not only will I get to read, but I will get to exercise, and it will be great.

So new goal: A book a week. New reading place: the gym.

Wish me luck!

P.S. – if you ever need a good book, hit me up, or check out my Goodreads, there’s lots on there!
